Gasthaus Hirschen in Todtnau

We have stayed at the Hirschen for the fifth time and are always happy to come back. The decor, the food and most of all the staff are excellent. The location is just great for excursions around the Feldberg area. I am happy to recommend it!

Very hospitable! Great single room, two medium sized dogs were welcome! Food selected and very, very tasty! Price / performance ratio very good!

Hosts by calling. Small but very good menu with solid, very good home-style cooking. In which everything is really cooked by certain ready-meal suppliers without any involvement. Extremely helpful.

We were there for 12 days. Very friendly hosts, with a great meal. Unfortunately Monday and Tuesday no half board which e.g. for motorcyclists is not ideal. For this the bus stop is directly at the house and one is in 5 minutes in Todtnau. We felt very comfortable during that time.

There were five of us here, had three starters, five main courses and three desserts. We were all absolutely satisfied and full. The dishes were delicious, perfectly seasoned and nicely presented. The portions were just right and reasonably priced - only the small salad for 5 euros was a bit small for the price. The menu is small but sufficient and there is also a seasonal and children's menu. Attention is paid to regional specialties and ingredients. Make a reservation, even on a Wednesday evening it was fully booked.

We had a nice room. Everything was modern and clean. You are treated in a friendly and courteous manner. There was a place in the garage for our motorcycles. Breakfast was good and the restaurant is also recommended. Although the house is on a main road, you can hardly hear anything with the windows closed.

Delicious food in a beautiful garden terrace overlooking the forested mountain! The service was great and very welcoming. We had the snitzel and a local wild hog bratwurst. Highly recommended.

Price-performance ratio is great. The rooms and the entire hotel are much better than they look on the homepage. Cozy, small beer garden. Very friendly service staff. Rich breakfast (scrambled eggs, fresh fruit and yoghurt). Motorbike garage is also available.

Very nice restaurant. We ate an excellent trout. For starters there was homemade bread and spread on the house. We felt very comfortable and will definitely come again

On the way through the Black Forest, we made a stop here to have a bite to eat. The restaurant is very attractively decorated and nicely decorated, it is bright and well maintained. The hotel management pays very close attention to compliance with the hygiene regulations, which gives us a good feeling as a guest. We received a greeting from the kitchen - home-made curd cheese with fresh herbs and delicious bread. The main course was plentiful, the meat tender, the herb butter obviously made with fresh herbs, the french fries just crispy and the side salad freshly prepared with a well-seasoned dressing. It's a shame that we were already so full, because we would have liked to try the tiramisu of the guests at the neighboring table. Therefore we will come back at the next opportunity. Maybe then we will also sit outside. A very special thank you to Ms. Spürgin and her kind support. We look forward to seeing you again!

We were there for dinner and despite "corona-related difficulties" we were received very friendly and competently served. My request for something vegetarian was also met and we were served super delicious porcini ravioli. The icing on the cake was the tiramisu dessert. That couldn't have been better. Thanks to the host couple and we would love to come back.

Excellent place to stay if you want to visit the Sky area in Feldberg. It has a great bus connection to it and you can easily reach it. The rooms were very clean and in order. The host family and the employees were also super nice and helpful, they answer all of our questions and were always very friendly. Would stay there again for sure.

Hotel rooms were clean and well equipped. Restaurant: everything was fresh and very well prepared. I was served friendly. Price-performance ratio is very good.

We stopped by for coffee and tea. Love the beautiful outdoor garden with flowers you can sit at. Prices are moderate. But I am taking one star off because my black tea wasn't very good. The water used is not hot enough and the tea came out very weak.

A very peaceful and beautiful Gasthaus Hotel in a wonderful place. Feldberg Ski Piste is nearby and easy to reach. There is even a river that is on the opposite side of this Hotel that is very cool to hear it every morning. Friendly helpful personnel and great food. Thumbs up.

Good food and stay. Nice room and not expensive

Spinach rolled up in pancake couldn’t get anymore tastier with the mushy cheese sauce! My husband admired the “well-done” steak with yummy noises! ☺️☺️ The best thing was the friendly and amazingly groomed staff...a few tables away there was a group of elderly ladies signing some traditional songs and toasting!

Excellent hotel and very helpful staff. The single room was small but very clean and had a nice bathroom with shower. I emailed the staff to inform them that I was going to be checking in late and when I arrived at 01:00am they were there waited for me to arrive and very friendly. I would stay here again.

Very good care. Nice sized room. Beautiful location with a bus stop outside the door. Nice people.

Love thid place. Tip: they give you a hochzwartszwald card. It'll let you do stuff for free like the badenparadise and world's greatest rodelbahn. (must do! Make sure you don't have slowpokes in front of you...) the food is great. Try the truit and the mushroom special, both were delicious. The hostess is really really friendly! She allowed us to take the hotel towels to an external swimming pool (we didn't bring any) and gave me an extra pillow. They printed out the schwartswald card in English cause we didn't understand the German one. Beds are quit hard, pillows not firm enough (for me). Breakfast is wonderful, everything you want AND they come and ask you what kind of egg you would like :) buss stop is right in front of the door! Make a visit to the waterfalls (huge!) and Titisee.

On arrival I was welcomed by the lady of the house and was treated very friendly and attentive throughout my stay. Enjoyed my clean and comfortable room that was in mint condition. Yes, the road is noisy but the windows do a very good job insulating. My motorcycle got a nice and dry garage for the night. The breakfast buffet is fantastic, with a wide range of fresh and tasty products from the region. Fresh trout for dinner is the best! Well-run family business, and highly recommended.
